Re: hp-ux 11.31 persistent dsf on symmetrix LUNS

What do you see?
Multiple cxdytz or multiple diskxx files?

Hope this helps!

Re: hp-ux 11.31 persistent dsf on symmetrix LUNS

I don't know much about this arrays, but AFAIR they must have a minimum firmware level and some special settings for HP-UX.

Hope this helps!

Re: hp-ux 11.31 persistent dsf on symmetrix LUNS

Symmetrix is a active/active array it will have a least 2 paths in a HA configuration. If power path is used to manage the failover & load balancing you will get an emcpower* name and corresponding 2*cxtydz numbers.

11.31 have its on native multi pathing as far as i know, but still i would go with each LUN should have to paths/cxtydz to benifit the active/active or HA configuratio. I wont be surprised to see multiple paths to single LUN>
