hpeaadsm Failure (Win2k3)
G'Day Group, Just a question regarding failure on a host with the Source: hpeaadsm. Here is the situitation. I have an EVA4k with CV EVA8.0 and RSM4.0. I have added an 'Enabled Host' to RSM. This host is a Windows 2003 Server with MPIO v3.0 installed. If I create a job within RSM to present a vDisk, the job runs ok however, on the host I get an Error in the hosts Event Viewer. The error is:
Source: hpeaadsm,
Event ID: 304,
Description: An unrecoverable path failure occured on SCSI address (3.0.0.101). Disk 6005088B4000557FD0001200003630000 is still accessible over redundant path(s).
This happens four time, for each redundant path. When I go to Un-present this disk from the host I get the same errors with the exception that a Event ID: 302 is generated at the last path failure with:
Description: An unrecoverable path failure occured on SCSI address (3.0.0.101). Disk 6005088B4000557FD0001200003630000 failed due to no redundant paths available.
Now I understand that it is recording what is actually happening, however, is there a way to prevent MPIO from trying to find a path if you have added or removed a vDisk?
Cheers Everyone and look forward to your reply,
John

Re: hpeaadsm Failure (Win2k3)
I'm experiencing the same issue with Windows 2003 x64. We upgraded to 3.0.1 MPIO DSM for the EVA, though we continue to have the same events logged. Have you found any resolution to this issue?

Re: hpeaadsm Failure (Win2k3)
update MPIO driver from v3.0 to v4.0
