iSCSI, HP NC382i & NC382T Multifunction, Windows 2008 R2

I have a question for anyone who has used a multifunction NIC from HP. We have both the NC382i and the NC382T adapters and we want to set it/them up as an iSCSI HBA. Tech support and the documentation say that no licensing is required to do such, instead you simply tick the Enable iSCSI checkbox in HP's NCU (Network Config Utility), provide an IP, set your Flow Control, jumbo frames, and off you go. Well we have done all that and have gone into the iSCSI Initiator on our 2008 R2 server. We add the adapter under Discovery Portal so it shows our target (a P4000 G2 SAN) IP, the default port (3260), the adapter shows as HP NC382i iSCSI Device and the IP I have assigned to it in the HP NCU. I assign a volume to the server using the standard iqn.1991-05.com.microsoft:Server.Domain.com. Both systems see each other and my volume shows up, but when I press Connect in the iSCSI Initiator, no matter what settings that we under advanced (default, Microsoft iSCSI Initiator or HP NC382i) we choose we get a "Login Failed" error. In event viewer I see BXIOS errors 10, 11 Target returned an invalid login response packet and  Login request failed.

Can anyone shed some light on this, I am at a loss and HP Tech gives me a run around about needing to change the BIOS settings on the card, need to install a license, not supported, etc...

Thank you so much to anyone that can help...

Any updates on this issue?  I have the same problem talking to a Synology RS 2211RP+ iSCSI NAS.
