iSCSS redundant connections to MSA2324i

I am setting up a VMware system, version 4, using several DL380 servers with multiple iSCSI controllers to these sans. The first connettion will setup and run as expected. The second redundant connection will only show up in VMware as an 'enclosure' in the type field, where the first of course is a 'disk'. These are broadcom nics setup as dependant hardware controllers in vSphere. I also noticed that when I map the second controller to the LUN on the SAN, it creates another iSCSI host instead of mapping the discovered host. The first host shows up as mapped and discovered, this one works as expected. I have deleted and recreated everything with the same results. I have separate vswitches setup for each nic in VMware. I am able to vmkping. The sans also have dual iSCSI controllers, the first nic is controller A, the second to controller B.
What am I missing here in the setup?

Has anybody else seen this problem?
