informations about EVA4400

Hello everybody,

I'd like to have informations about the EVA4400 Array.

My compagny wants to purchase 2 EVA4400 then install them on 2 differents sites. Distance 12km.

The main aim is to connect them to 2 HP ML350G7 - Windows 2008 with Oracle DB.

We'll have one site with one EVA4400 and a ML350 and another site w/ the same configuration.

I'm thinking to use synchronous replication for the 2 array.
The goal is to replicate the DB from one node to the second.
Do you have advice about that ?
Do you think it's possible ?
Do you know if the EVA4400 support Oracle DB replication ? I believe yes.

Thanks for your advices.

Re: informations about EVA4400

For Oracle DB replication you have two choices:
1) use Oracle Data Guard
2) use HP Continuous Access EVA
You need to contact HP consulting for preparing detailed plan.

Re: informations about EVA4400

Thanks for your answer.
Do you think it's possible to use the array replication mode for a oracle DB.
Can i get corrupt DB, or anything wrong by using the array replication mode instead of oracle replication ?
My manager would like to do it this way but i have some interrogations. (I'm not DBA)

Cheers,

Re: informations about EVA4400

EVA array based replication mode (using HP Continuous Access EVA) can be used for replicate Oracle DB.
