hi, when you say Xmodem no longer works, what did you try to load? That unit really should use firmware 5.2 (or the very latest 5.3 to support server 2008). If you have access to another MSA you could clone the other firmware onto it but try the 5.2 through the cli (using the "offline" switch as you have only one controller).

Re: msa-1000 error after

I tried to load older version firmware (4.38). But loading process does not begin: (Though the invitation for loading appears on the screen:

--------------------------------------------------
CLI> download firmware offline

Please begin Xmodem file transfer now.
--------------------------------------------------

Through FC I started all versions msaflash, on a server win2003. Probably I have filled in firmware from msa-1500, and at me msa-1000 or it is not important???

hi, ok that sounds bad. what speed of transfer did you select from the Xmodem menu 1k or slower (256b i think) and at what point does it stop?

Re: msa-1000 error after

I am sorry - my English is very bad. I (in win hyper terminal) chose 1K-XModem and not absolutely I understand, where it is possible to establish speed in 256b???

Re: msa-1000 error after

in the dialog box that says 1k if you click to drop down a list the slower speed is there, 1k is the 'fast' speed (it's old). I guess that after clicking send it gives an error then about not supported? If so it may be dead and need replacing.
