i have a msa 2012i with 12 disks (single controller). i configured two virtual disks each with 3tb (5 disks and one spare drive). i also configured two volumes - volume 1 and volume 2 (one volume on each virtual disk). I added a second NIC in my ML350g3 and configured it as an iSCSI Port. After doing the step-by-step configuration from the manual i was able to find a new volume in win2003 disk manager (mapped the volume to that server). But i am not able to see the second volume on this server. I maped the second volume to the same server, but i am not able to see the second volume in disk manager.
the question is - what i am doing wrong ?
kind regards
Manuel

Re: msa 2012i - can´t see second volume in windows 2003
We have an issue with 2012i and single controller. New FW will soon be release to address the problem. In the meantime, make sure all your VDISK are on Controller A.

Re: msa 2012i - can´t see second volume in windows 2003
i think i have this config...
Ok - let me explain:
Single Controller:
PORT 0 (Management port) --> only for mngmt.
PORT 1 (iSCSI Port 1) --> unique IP
PORT 2 (iSCSI Port 2) --> unique IP
Port 1 <-> GB Switch <-> ML350G3 (Data Host)
2 Virutal Disks: Array1 and Array2
2 Volumes: Volume1 on Array1 and Volume2 on Array2
in Windows 2003 i am only able to see volume1 - but its all on the same port...
where is my misunderstanding ? - because you said be sure to have all vdisk on controller A - i have only ONE controller...?
thanks a lot

SolutionThe first VDISK you create is assigned to Controller A. By default the second VDISK is created on Controller B.
The FW thinks there is a second controller and created the second VDISK on controller B.
Please verify that all VDISK are on Controller A.
