msa1000 controller 2 offline
We got an msa1000 array with 2 controllers. Each have it's own switch at the back. But only controller 1 has fiber cables connected to it.This is an active/standby setup with controller 1 as active. At ACU, it shows that controller 2 is offline. At CLI, controller 2 does'nt appear on show connections , only controller 1.

Hello,
have you tried to re-seat the controller? Is the LCD on the controller lighted?
Best regards,
Patrick

Re: msa1000 controller 2 offline
Hi,
First off i must say that the firmware you are running is not supported by HP anymore according to SPOCK.
Yes normally it should say somthing like
Controller 2 Port 1 Status = offline
Coudnt it just be that it doesnt show at all because there is no cable connected to it?
The redundancy wouldnt work anyway with only cables to one controller...
If you have a spare cable, hook it up to controller B and upgrade to Active/active 7.10.
You would both get redundancy and performance improvements.
Regards,
Johnny

Hi,
Johnny is right, you should run at least v5.20 A/P or 7.10 A/A. Try to re-sseat the controller.
Best regards,
Patrick
