Re: "Export Reports" function on Command View 9.3

Brilliant! That did it.  For those wondering, i generated the reports from within CommandView, you click the system, then system options, and "export reports"

renaming to a .zip worked perfectly, it's just curious why it doesn't download as such.

You are welcome.

Just tested this functionality with CV10.0 simulator, it provides me a *.zip file for download.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

ahh, could be because i'm on 9.3 :)  I'd upgrade if EVA4100 were compatible with CV 10.X

Re: "Export Reports" function on Command View 9.3

CV 10.3 is supported with XCS 6.1xx and above (XCS 6.250 is current for your EVA).

CV9.3 is unsupported since march 2012.

Hope this helps!

Re: "Export Reports" function on Command View 9.3

awesome.   Upgraded to CV 10.3 and i'm quite happy with the results so far.  I used to have an EVA4000, which if i recall isn't compatible with 10.X, but we've upgraded to the 4100 in the past year and i forgot to re-check the compatibility chart.

Thanks Torsten!

>but HP's website won't allow an invalid extension to be attached to a post.

Does it now say what the list of valid suffixes are?  It used to just ignore that attachment.

>I just added a .txt extension

It would now be helpful for you to edit your post (Post Options > Edit Reply) and remove your attachment and then add it back with .zip.

And change the text to now say .zip.  :-)

Re: "Export Reports" function on Command View 9.3

If, at the time of that posting, i had known it required a .zip extension, I wouldnt have had to open this thread! That seems pretty unscientific.

Should we delete the thread and make a customer advisory saying that on CV EVA versions prior to 10.X there isn't a file extension on the exported reports?

->Does it now say what the list of valid suffixes are?  It used to just ignore that attachment.

it did, and i don't remember exactly what all they were, but among them was .jpg, .txt, .pdf, .zip, and a few others that aren't coming to mind just now.

That's the beauty of retconning, you can correct the past.  :-)

It also allows people to see the attachment content, without going through a lot of work.

(I originally mentioned .zip in case it was too big and it was a known suffix.)

>Should we delete the thread and make a customer advisory saying ...

No, the topic is useful to others.  Has anyone checked to see if it is documented?

I suppose for CV 10.0, if it has a .zip suffix, it is obvious.

>it did, and I don't remember exactly what all they were

I finally got that message:

jpg,gif,pdf,png,doc,docx,ppt,pptx,xls,xlsx,zip,txt,sh,ksh,rar,pps,csv,log,ics,unl are the valid extensions.

Thanks, much easier to see the contents/format.
