Re: "protection failure"

In a Disk group "Protection level" is actually called Disk Group Failure Protection level used to sustain 0,1 or 2 drive failures.

This can be done by selecting none, single or Double options Under Dikgroup general tab in comman view eva.

You can also chk this post for more clarification.

Re: "protection failure"

Hi ESS,

Following HP document should explain you abou this.

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&objectID=c01209515&prodTypeId=12169&prodSeriesId=3664763

Protection Level: The EVA has three protection levels: 0, 1, and 2. The number represents the guaranteed number of disks that can be reconstructed after disk(s) failure. This is accomplished by setting aside (reserving) enough capacity for the reconstruction to complete.

Hari
