Re: recovery password reset for 4/8 SAN Switch

If you want to use that method you need to get in touch with HP/brocade's support.

Did you try the default password fibranne?

There may be other ways to reset it. Can you get through the command shell? Which FOS is it running?

Re: recovery password reset for 4/8 SAN Switch

Switch is used.

Admin/root password in FOS is unknown.

I try reset FOS admin/root password in recovery console and accidentally block recovery console with unknown password...

Default password (fibranne, password, factory etc) for admin/root account is not work.

I could not find the email support HP and Serial # from my SAN Switch is not accepted in https://h50203.www5.hp.com/WCLWeb/WCLNoWarranty.aspx :(

Try on this page: http://h20566.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/public/wc/home/

If it doesn't have a warranty/contract it will most likely cost money for you to get HP to reset the password.

If you're locked out of recovery console you can't do much except asking for recovery key or using brute force..
