redundant setup of msa2312sa

I have msa2312sa with dual controllers and a dl 380g6 with 2 hbas.

I would like to configure fail over.

I have done the cabling.

I would just wonder how to map the volume to our windows 2003 host to provide failover

I know how to map one of the hbas to the volume. but this doesnt provide failover.

IS the way to provide failover is to map the second hba to the same volume?

It is called "Multipath I/O" (MPIO). You should find a device-specific module (MPIO DSM) on the MSA2312 support web pages.

Re: redundant setup of msa2312sa

Thanks for the response i have installed mpio on the windows 2003 server.

Do i need to do any configuration. as on the smu management tool I see 2 hosts(the 2 HBA's)in the server .

Which host do I map for failover.

Or do I need to map both hba's to the volume for failover.

With the testing I mapped both host and it seem to work but if I map only one host the failover doesnt work
