many updates do not get announced (at least on the public web pages) and customer advisories (I do understand that the labs need some time to diagnose a problem, but still) often come late.

Remember the problems with the XL cache batteries? I've reported 2 dead batteries at the very beginning of December 2006. Advisory c00848785, V1 was released on 25 January 2007.

Carl, after reading this new advisory (the original advisory c01717503 has not been updated) it looks like there are is a small oversight during upgrades/replacements:

c01712861 - HP StorageWorks 4400 Enterprise Virtual Array - Caution when Replacing Controller when Master Controller Is Running XCS 0950000 or 0950100

Maybe its good to wait for a fix unless the upgrade is necessary due to other issues.

Do you have a link to this advisory? I can't seem to find it.

Only interested in keeping upto date with CV versions. Not had any issues since I upgraded to SBM CV 8.00.02 and XCS 09006000.

I believe there are some enhancements with XCS 9.5 and CV9.0
