soft diagnostic failure error in one of the eva4000 controller

hi,

we have eva4000 new one. in one of the controller frequently getting soft diagnostic failure error. the firmware is 6.000. any help please

If it's new then call support !

You might be able to look at the event logs in Command View EVA to work out what's happening, however the logs are quite difficult to interpret.

Send the logs to HP who will analyse them and determine what the fault is.

Go into Command View EVA, select your storage system and select view events. Have a look through each of the logs for errors and Get each of the log files.

If you can't see anything then use these to raise a call with HP.

Can I downgrade the firmware from 6.0 to 5100. I have to do this after taking backup as there will be a data loss.

Changing firmware will work out. Any way I will be escalating to HP also.

I'm a bit confused by your question.

Have you determined that you need to downgrade to VCS5, or has HP ?

Either way I think you have to get HP to do any changes as you can't obtain the firmware (AFAIK). They will be able to advise as to the best way to proceed.
