spmgr display not working for EVA VCS 4.100

I have upgrade VCS on my EVA-5000s to 4.100 and de-installed old SecurePath and re-installed SecurePath 3.0E (11iv1/11iv2).

Now the "spmgr display" command shows nothing visible. Have I got the right version here? How do I tell what WWN the disk has?

Re: spmgr display not working for EVA VCS 4.100

Did you perform a discovery?

Hope this helps!

Torsten

"discovery" does not seem to be an option for "spmgr", nor is it in the PATH. Is it an extra hidden option?

Re: spmgr display not working for EVA VCS 4.100

Wasn't this "spmgr discover"?
(maybe I mix this up with autopath ...)

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: spmgr display not working for EVA VCS 4.100

I don't have all the version tables in mind, but your version is likely a bit old.

This is newer, but maybe not the latest:

HP StorageWorks Secure Path 3.0F Service Pack 4 for HP-UX 11i v1.0 and 11i v2.0

Hope this helps!

Re: spmgr display not working for EVA VCS 4.100

'spmgr' is the management interface for the 'Compa classic' "Secure Path for active/passive storage arrays".

For VCS 4.100 you need to install "Secure Path for active/active storage arrays" (which is based on the pre-merger HP 'AutoPath' product) and the command is 'autopath'.

Re: spmgr display not working for EVA VCS 4.100

When you upgrade your VCS to 4.100 your eva5000 will now support active/active.
You need to uninstall SP active/passive and rerun the script and select the option active/active.
You can find the latest SP in the below link

http://bizsupport1.austin.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=18964&prodSeriesId=471465&prodNameId=1825336&swEnvOID=7&swLang=8&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=co-68701-1

then run the below commands
1) ioscan -fnC disk
2) autopath discover ON
3) autopath display
to see the wwn no of the disk you need to give the below command.
fcmsutil /dev/fcdX where X=0/1
or
tdutil /dev/tdX where X=0/1

Re: spmgr display not working for EVA VCS 4.100

thanks for the pointers to the docs and downloads. One interesting point, the readme and install instructions only mentioned EVA-6000 for active/active - is EVA5000 supported in active / active for this download or is there another driver?

Re: spmgr display not working for EVA VCS 4.100

I read that as you need to stick with an older service pack.
