upgrading SAN-OS on HP "C" (Cisco) series switches

Hello all,
I have some basic questions about the methodology for upgrading the SAN-OS on HP/Cisco Fabric switches. I have the new SAN-OS (now called NX-OS) but the release notes and other documentation doesn't give me enough detail for my scenario.
I have a relatively simple configuration.
2 "Core" switches MDS9124, 1 for each fabric
6 "Edge" switches MDS9124e, in 3 blade enclosures, again 1 for each fabric

In what order do I install the new OS? core vs. edge first, etc.
We're going from 3.3(1c) to 5.0(4) which is supported.
We have not yet enabled NPV/NPIV.
We have two EVAs (4100 & 4400)
We have a tape library and a couple of rack mount Proliant connected directly to core switches.
I've got daily switch backups so I should be good in this respect.
Any other issues to look out for?
Thanks
Andrew
