what is Brocade model for HP StorageWorks 8/20q FC switch?

This switch is OEM'd from Qlogic.

See the following link which says "The HP StorageWorks 8/20q FC Switch is equivalent to the Qlogic SANbox 5800 and 5802."

I am not familiar with commands on this switch, though I know of commands on Brocade switches.

Where I could find out the manual on commands?

and also why all the suddent HP switch to Qlogic switch? we don't know it is not Brocade type of switches until we open the box.

Well, the model number 8/20q itself has "q" in it which is identification for Qlogic OEM'd switch.

As far as switching to Qlogic is concerned, it maybe because it's cost effective and offers some useful features like " innovative Transparent Routing (TR)" etc.

since we have all brocade compatible switches here, is there equivalent brocades one to this Qlogic one? commands all seem different.

and i don't know why they just sell this one instead of brocade one.

Is HP still selling StorageWorks 8/24 ?
and can it be used as core/edge switch? because 8/20q can be used as core/edge switch.
