what utility do I use to add a new license to a brocade switch?

Can someone guide me on the correct procedure to enable me to add an "8 Port extension license"  to an AM869A HP 8/40 SAN Switch?

thanks

Jacques

I would ask under Storage/San rather than here...

I have an HP 8/40 "32 enabled" port Brocade switch that I need to enable another 8 ports.  Why should I post this question with SAN/Storage?

"Switches, Hubs, Modems" is for other switches, like ethernet.

If you already have the license key:

Via CLI:

licenseadd "yourlicensekeyhere"

After adding that license you will have to activate the ports...  It suggests switchdisable/switchenable or portdisable/portenable...  but don't let that confuse you...  It will look something like this...

DO NOT USE SWITCHDISABLE/SWITCHENABLE unless it's a new install or you feel like you can take that fabric down for a moment...

So just do this:

portenable 16

portenable 17

portenable 18

etc.
