when the connection to a different SAN storage port, the tape devices would be changed?
the window server connects the tape library that is configured on NetApp storage via SAN switch.
My question is, if we move the connection to the different port on the storage, what imparct would be on the server? On the window server, what methoud to verify the device, and check if the device would be changed, and therefore it'd effect the configurations of the backup software?
thanks for your replys!

Re: when the connection to a different SAN storage port, the tape devices would be changed?
I'm no windows expert, but in my opinion, since you change the controller id, your OS will detect new tape devices.
In computer management you will be able to see a new set of tape drives.
Depending on the backup software, you will have to delete the old devices and reconfigure the new tape drives in your backup software.
