windows snapshot backup host and tape library and TUR
I've got a win2003/64bit host that can see both storage arrays and eml tape libraries on the SAN.
This host gets snaps/clones/etc presented to it and it mounts them and backs them up to tape.
Issue is to recognize/mount/etc requires scanning bus... which can anger tape library if the shared libraries doing unrelated work for another host...
Is there a way in windows to selectively scan targets?
What do other folks do to not spur test-unit-ready noise after a bus scan (e.g. diskpart->rescan)? TUR noise causes tape drives to wig/out and rewind it seems in a too coincidental fashion.
lunmask/unlunmask on host side? (emulex hbas)
Any ideas appreciated.
