HPE Developer Community heads to KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Europe 2022
KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Europe 2022 is May 16-20, 2022. Join HPE on site or virtually!
HPE will be attending the Cloud Native Computing Foundation’s flagship conference, KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Europe 2022, May 16-20, 2022. We will have a booth on site (booth number G11) at the Feria Valencia, along with a virtual presence that includes the HPE Developer Hack Shack.
HPE’s Dale Rensing has detailed HPE’s activities at the conference in a recent blog on the HPE Developer site. For those who want a quick overview, I’ve included highlights below.
On site activities
Stop by the HPE booth (G11) to chat with HPE experts and HPE Developer Community team members. They’ll give you the rundown on key open source projects HPE is involved in (such as SPIFFE/SPIRE, CSI driver, and Apache Spark™).
HPE software engineers Agustín Martínez Fayó and Marcos Yacob will speak about SPIRE on Friday, May 20th. This session provides a high-level overview of the basic concepts behind SPIRE and explains why you should consider using it if you find it challenging to issue workload identities at scale.
They will also offer a deep dive into the Microsoft Windows support introduced in SPIRE, including details about the implementation, differences between running SPIRE on Windows and Linux platforms, and experiences from both a user and developer perspective. This session runs from 14:55 to 15:30. Make sure you catch it before you head out!
You can also learn about HPE’s software development work and open source efforts at the booth. Each day, you’ll have opportunities to learn about the following topics:
- What? Not yet an HPE DEV Member? There's Treasure to be Found!
- Open Source @ HPE – a 25+ Years Love Story
- Overview of HPE Storage for Kubernetes
- Introduction to HPE Point Next
- Introduction to SPIFFE & SPIRE
Virtual activities
During the HPE Developer Community live office hours, you can connect with HPE subject matter experts and collaborate, learning more about open source and HPE technologies. The featured topics will mirror those in the booth.
As part of its virtual presence, HPE will also feature the HPE Developer Hack Shack, a place to learn and have fun. It’s a unique site designed to give virtual events a personal touch and extend the experience beyond the event. The HPE Developer Community will provide numerous activities through the Hack Shack and web portal. A few workshops are listed below; please check out Dale’s original blog for all of the fun activities (including a treasure hunt and arcade).
- WORKSHOPS-ON-DEMAND: Access over two dozen free, on-demand hands-on training courses. Using a Jupyter Notebook environment, these workshops provide you with hands-on experience across the latest HPE and open source technologies:
- Docker 101 - Introduction to Docker Concepts
- Spark 101 - Introduction to Apache Spark Concepts
- Creating a Zero Trust Model for Microservices Architectures with SPIRE and Envoy
- Kubernetes 101 - Introduction to the Kubernetes Concepts
- Building a dynamic Machine Learning pipeline with KubeDirector
- Using Kubernetes CSI with HPE Ezmeral Container Platform
HPE is excited to have this opportunity to connect with other technologists—both in person and virtually! Register now.
