We have an existing 2node dhci cluster that has been fully commissioned and working fine. We then purchased a second stack for a remote office that then closed down before it was deployed and has sat unused ever since. We now need more compute and storage in our existing dhci cluster so want to expand our current 2node cluster into a 4node cluster using the other dhci hosts and also use the Nimble as a second storage array with the same cluster. What is the best approach in doing this?
Many thanks

SolutionToday, there is no support for this. But perhaps Nimble support/engg may be able to help.
Does the retired stack have data on it that needs to be preserved? Are IP addresses preserved/different in the two locations?
Depending on answers to those, a support-assisted option would be to dismantle the unused stack, add the unused Nimble as a second array to the group, and add the unused hosts as additional hosts to the first cluster.

Re: Adding a second nimble dhci stack
Just to clarify
The nimble dhci stack I want to add was never even unboxed so has no existing data or network configuration.
I’m sure I would be able to use the two servers as this would be just like adding two new hosts to the existing VMware cluster to go from a two to four node cluster?
Is it just the new Nimble dhci array that can’t be added into the cluster? I would be able to add it ok if it wasn’t a dhci version just as a second iscsi target array. I’m not looking to join it to the Nimble group,
I was hoping to add the new dhci stack to my current VMware cluster as if I was deploying into a brownfield site
Thanks

Re: Adding a second nimble dhci stack
Thank you for updating with the good news!
Yes the 2 unused servers can be added to the existing dHCI cluster once they are powered on in the new network.
