How to remove OneView license from Blade and put back in OneView pool ?

Problem description:

Customer have bought  bellow licenses for new BL460c Gen9 servers (qty 50) that will be managed by HP OneView 1.20.5.

HP OV Upgrade w/3yr 24x7 Flex E-LTU x 50 (qty) E5Y45AAE

HP iLO Adv-BL incl 3yr TS U E-LTU  x 50 (qty) E6U63ABE

Facts:

  • Customer currently have 40 old BL460c G7 and 4 enclosures c7000
  • Old G7 servers are in process of swap with newBL460c Gen9 servers.
  • 1st enclosure of 4 are imported in OneView 1.20.5, that have currently mix of G7 and Gen9 servers.
  • License for OV is combination of iLO advanced license and HP OV Upgrade license
  • Gen 9 servers have HP iLO Advanced license installed, G7 don’t have it.
  • OneView have installed 50 licenses HP OV Upgrade (E5Y45AAE)
  • 16 licenses have been used from available pool of 50 licenses, and they have been assigned automaticaly to G7 and Gen9 server in that 1st enclosure.

My question is how we can remove licenses from G7 servers and return them to pool of OV licenses, as soon as we offload G7 servers to new Gen9 servers (most of them are Citrix or VMWare servers)?

So it will be good if there is some CLI command that can remove for specific server it's license and release it back to pool of licenses available on HP OneView appliance....

Tnx!

Mladen K.

There is no mechanism to rectify this within HP OneView.  I would ask that you or your customer contact the HP CSC and open a support case.
