ILO3 - Gen7 how to get status updates into HPE OneView

Hi,

i want to exchange our current HP SIM with HPE OneView. I could easily add our enclosure and the Ilo4 and Ilo5 servers. Now i wanted to add the ilo3/gen7 servers - which worked for the ILO but i am not sure if i would get any problems from the Gen7 Server.

What do i have to configure and install to get any problems from the server (and how to check it?)

In order to get alerts, you will need to install the Insight Management Agents and configure iLO3 for SNMP Passthrough.  However, if you happen to be running VMware vSphere 5.x or newer, then you will be out of luck here.  VMware deprecated SNMP support, and the Insight Management Agents are WMI-/WBEM-based, and has no support for SNMP.  So you will be unable to get alerts of when a hardware issue has been logged, and an event is generated.  HPE OneView today only supports SNMP alerting.
