SNMP setup for OneView

We are trying to send all OneView alerts to LogicMonitor via SNMP but it appears they are not being sent.  Our config has the destination of our LogicMonitor server, port is 162, format is SNMPV1, and Community String is public.  We can receive other SNMP traps from other devices and we have verified that there is not a firewall issue, but it does not appear to send it from OneView.  It almost appears like if you have emailing of the alerts turned on, you can't do SNMP traps.  Any guidance would be helpful thanks.

Re: SNMP setup for OneView

SNMP forwarding will only forward SNMP traps originating from iLO, c-class Onboard Administrator or HPE Synergy Frame Link Module.  Otherwise, OneView does not generate SNMP traps for events or actions that happens within OneView.

Working with a site where  OneView has been setup with SNMP and all rack based servers are being managed.

Do we need to setup the SNMP both on the iLO's and OneView or, if the servers are being managed by OneView, then we dont need to setup the SNMP on the iLO.

At present what we notice is that the messages only to get passed to destinattion if the iLO has been setup with SNMP.

If thats the case, then there are 300 or so servers that will need to be setup.

Re: SNMP setup for OneView

OneView automatically configures the iLO for alerting, which includes configuring SNMP.  This is documented in the User Guide here.
