I'm trying to add a rack server to OneView 4.10. I get the error "This server is already being monitored by this appliance" but the server is not showing in the hardware inventory nor does it appear on the reports screen. Additionally, I don't see the server when doing a Get-HPOVServer in PowerShell. Is there a way to reconcile whatever database OneView is using?

Re: This server is already being monitored by this appliance
Hello rmay_bk,
Was this server trasferred or being monitored by another appliance? If so you may need to reset to factory defaults the iLO & BIOS/UEFI. Access to OneView database is restricted for HPE support only.

Re: This server is already being monitored by this appliance
Hi, we're not sure. There was an old OneView appliance in our environment that was removed a few weeks back. We also removed an HP SIM server.
You're saying that both the target server's iLO and its BIOS would need a reset back to factory defaults?

Re: This server is already being monitored by this appliance
Hello rmay_bk,
Indeed this is what I recommended. What is the server model?

Re: This server is already being monitored by this appliance
I've just discovered a duplicate serial number on another DL580. Could this be the culprit?
Edit: I've updated the serial number but it didn't fix the issue.

SolutionWe now have resolution. It was another duplicate serial number. We had two DL580 Gen9 systems with a motherboard S/N not matching the physical chassis. We corrected one and it put the system into conflict with another. Now all S/Ns are unique and we can add all of these systems to OneView.
