Re: how can config oneview to use proactiveHA feature in vcenter
According to hp document i have appear this error
NOTE: If the vCenter certificate is not added in the HPE OneView, the following error message is
displayed for the missing certificate:
VMware vCenter is not registered with OneView. Ensure OneView has a
network path to the vCenter and can validate the vCenter certificate
but not say solution for that
how cn solve that ?

Re: how can config oneview to use proactiveHA feature in vcenter
Registering your vCenter in OneView is not related to this. Will not hurt anything but will not help. Same with iLO addresses and credentials. Not releated and in fact should not be done. With OneView in the environment there is no need to enter iLO or host credentials in OV4VC.
If you are not seeing the HPE OneView provider in the P-HA providers list then I can think of a couple of things. OV4VC cannot communicate with the vCenter. Could be a networking issue. Or the vCenter user account used by OV4VC does not have adaquate privilage.
You can check the Proactive HA log in OV4VC. Download a log dump from the appliance admin website and check this file.

Re: how can config oneview to use proactiveHA feature in vcenter

1- Is that yor means not necessary to add ilo or esxi host that are in my cluster to oneview for vcenter pluin in vcenter such as attach pic ?
2- if adding esxi host to that part is not necessary , what happen will be do if i add them ? also during add them we can add server via esxi host or ilo what is difference between them ?

Re: how can config oneview to use proactiveHA feature in vcenter
1. Correct. When you have OneView managing your servers you do not need to enter iLO, host, OA, or Virtual Connect credentials in OV4VC. When OneView is managing the environment OV4VC can get everything it needs from OneView and does not need to talk to the hardware directly.
2. Adding these credentials will cause OV4VC to collect data from iLO and ESXi every few minutes. This data will never be used since the data is already available from OneView. I would recommend removing all Device Credentials. They are only needed when OneView is not being used. All new features including Proactive HA require OneView.

Re: how can config oneview to use proactiveHA feature in vcenter
So thanks
1- now Is that possoble just deploy OV4VC without oneview for use proactiveHA and add host credential with ILO in oneview for vCenter plugin such as attach pic (44.jpg) ? or oneview is mandatory for use proactiveHA ?
2- if oneview is mandatory for use proactiveHA can I add ilo hos credentials as monitor not manage with oneview standard license or for run proactiveHA oneview advance license is mandatory ?
3- is that need add oneview in vCenter in server integration according aatch pic (2.jpg) ?

Re: how can config oneview to use proactiveHA feature in vcenter
Proactive HA requires OneView and OV4VC
So you will need to register vCenter with OneView (doing it via iLO will not work). You should be able to do it with the OneView Standard license
Thanks,
Doug

Re: how can config oneview to use proactiveHA feature in vcenter
Hi,
I have a similar issue where I have stood a whole environment up with 2xvcenters, oneview, and ov4vc, all hooked up and "working", aside from the proactive HA provider being blank.
I downloaded the log dump, and in the proactive-ha log saw this:-
INFO pha_resources.pha_helper get_vc_ov_hosts vcenter hosts to search in ov are : ['39373638-3935-5a43-4a38-313531474637', '39373638-3935-5a43-4a38-313531474638', '39373638-3935-5a43-4a38-313531474643', '39373638-3935-5a43-4a38-313531474642', '39373638-3935-5a43-4a38-313531474644', '39373638-3935-5a43-4a38-313531474639', '39373638-3935-5a43-4a38-313531474647', '39373638-3935-5a43-4a38-313531474646', '39373638-3935-5a43-4a38-31353147464c', '39373638-3935-5a43-4a38-31353147464a', '39373638-3935-5a43-4a38-313531474648', '39373638-3935-5a43-4a38-31353147464b']
INFO pha_resources.pha_helper get_vc_ov_hosts hosts in both vcenter and oneview are : []
I would have thought both lists should match no? Clearly its seeing the hosts in vcenter. I am lost at this point, any clues?

Re: how can config oneview to use proactiveHA feature in vcenter
It sounds like you have all the hosts in the cluster being monitored or managed by OneView. If that's not the case, then that would be a problem. The HPE Proactive HA provider gets its health data from OneView and not directly from the individual hosts, so the hosts have to be in OneView.
The other thing is that the HPE provider will only show up in the cluster level view. So select the cluster, and then in the Monitor tab look at the HPE Server Hardware menu. If you look at it at the host level, it won't show up.
Thanks,
Doug
