Hi!
I have a server reportign a failed batery on a Smart Array 5300. It reports;
Status: Temp Disabled Battery Status: Failed, Replace Battery
Serial Number: N/A Read Errors: 0
Total Memory: 48 MB Write Errors: 0
Read Cache: 24 MB Error Code: Replace Battery
Write Cache: 24 MB Bad Data: None
Do I need a 24M Battery backed memory unit or is the battery seperate?
Thanks!

Solution
Hi Alan,
The battery is separate part to the memory.
If you search for 5300 at http://partsurfer.hp.com then you'll get the following part number:
120978-001
4.8V battery 300mAh, nickel metal hydride (NiMH) Attaches to the cache memory board
Cheers,
Rob
