Drive Upgrade and Replacement

Hello All,

Looking for some guidance here. I have a simplivity cluster and do to performance reasons I need to upgrade the SSD CACHE on all the nodes, however I"m finding a lack of documentation to go about doing this. Could someone point me in the right direction here? I am relativiely new to Simplivity but have other HCI experience.

TIA!

Re: Drive Upgrade and Replacement

Hi,

I would suggest to check the respective node models "Installation and Maintenance Guide" and refer to "Drive maintenance guidelines".

Re: Drive Upgrade and Replacement

Those docs show to handle a failed drive. This is a replacement and expansion of existing drives.

Re: Drive Upgrade and Replacement

I'm sorry, expanding cache is not supported. Storage configs are fixed, and cannot be modifed (except on certain Gen 10 modesl where we supoprt storage expansion).

My experience has been that cache size is unlikley to resolve a performance issue, even if we did support it, but that's a moot point - we don't, and it can't be done (even in an unsupported fashion).
