Is it possible to have NFS v4.1 Datastores with Simplivity?
Just curious if this is possible or coming down the line?

No currently the NFS v3 protocol is what is presented to the ESXi.It possibly will come in the future but there is as of yet no ETA.

Re: Is it possible to have NFS v4.1 Datastores with Simplivity?
Keep in mind, we do not implement the entire NFS stack - only enough to support VMware, and only other SimpliVity hosts, and other hosts you explicitly authorize as compute nodes, are allowed to access the datastore. The concerns people have around NFS versions (mostly security) are not relevant in the SimpliVity environment.

Re: Is it possible to have NFS v4.1 Datastores with Simplivity?
Thanks. It was moreso for Veeam backups. When using NFSv3 and the hotadd option, the VMs will freeze up and lose connection. This forces us to use the network option instead of hotadd. Not a huge deal but it would be nice to have the option available without adding additonal proxies and such.

Thanks for the info
