Reconnect Simplivity Host to Vcenter
Hi All,
I have a 2 node Direct connect CN-2000. We are planning to migrate to a newer Simplivity setup in the near future., however for now I am having issues with my current setup. From Vcenter one of the hosts shows as disconnected and any attempt to reconnect fails. The virtual machines are running fine.
svt-vm-show shows all Vms online with storage HA as yes..
svt-federation-show shows the federation as healthy but shows one Simplivity Node as not part of the Vsphere cluster.
As seen below only host 1 is showing an association to the Vcenter(simpvcenter.company.com), Datacenter(SIMP_DC) and ESXi Cluster(SIMP)
HOST1 OK
simpvcenter.company.com | SIMP_DC | SIMP | simpesxiu01.company.com | OmniStackVC-148-164-81-62 | Alive | 148.164.81.62 | 192.168.10.100 | 192.168.20.101 | Release 3.5.2.90 | Connected | Enabled | OmniCube CN-2400-1
HOST2 NOT OK
simpesxiu02.company.com | OmniStackVC-148-164-81-64 | Alive | 148.164.81.64 | 192.168.10.110 | 192.168.20.111 | Release 3.5.2.90 | Connected | Enabled | OmniCube CN-2400-1
I have tried reconnecting the host from Vcenter and it times out.
My plan was to vmotion the Vms to the host that shows online and then reboot the faulty host. The problem is that I cannot do that if the host shows as not part of the cluster.
So my fallback here is to shutdown the VMs on the faulty host, shutdown the OVC from the cli, then reboot the host. Can anyone help with the procedure on how to do this?
I am not sure if there is a way to restart the Simplivity management agents to avoid this. Can anyone advise on how to fix this issue?
