Hello Guys,
the mapping of a SimpliVity datastore to a non SimpliVity host in the same Cluster is pretty easy and supported. I would like to know if it is also supported to map the SimpliVity Datastore to non SimpliVity Hosts in a different Cluster, same vCenter or non SimpliVity Hosts ina different vCenter. Technically it is possible but is it also supported?
Cheers,
Nick

Re: Storage mapping to non SimpliVity Hosts
Hi @NZamp
You are correct. It does and will work (via CLI), however it is not a supported configuration long term. It can be used in instances of emergency where a VM needs re-locating but should be avoided as it does not give us visibility as the plugin will face issues and will cause inconsistencies.
Thanks!
I work for HPE

Re: Storage mapping to non SimpliVity Hosts
Hi dhooley,
thanks for your response that clarifies it a little.
Is the mapping of a SimpliVity Datastore to a non SinmpliVity node in a different cluster supported? This would work over the gui as the non SimpliVitys are shownin the selection menue.
Cheers,
Nick
