is it possible to restore a delete vm?
Our setup is a 4 node simplivity stretched cluster with 2 nodes in both locations(Zone A & B). My question is how would you restore a deleted vm. is this possible? What happens to the backups once a vm is deleted.
Thanks

Re: is it possible to restore a delete vm?
Absolutely, as long as you have a backup.
From the cluster, <right-click> the cluster object, select All SimpliVity Actions; Search Backups
If a backup exists, you will find it in this screen - you can search by name.
Find the backup, and restore it.

Re: is it possible to restore a delete vm?
"Search Backups" from the Cluster object only returns 500 backups.
How do I find more backups? I see no way to scoll through them. Searching with a filter by Virtual Machine name seems flawed. I've tried "starts with", contains, etc.
Has anyone else had this issue?

Re: is it possible to restore a delete vm?
You can search for backups on the virtual machine object under all simplivity actions.
How do you mean flawed ? Have you tried serching via cli ?

Re: is it possible to restore a delete vm?
I was using search via the GUI.
The backup search function does allow one to filter by VM name. My issue was that I was not using exact case on the VM name.
It sounds like I may need to resort to the CLI to get a list of all backups. I'll check it out.
Thanks.
