New Infosight Feature - Maintenance Windows!

In the November monthly update of the Infosight engine, the wizards in the Infosight team released an interesting new feature called Maintenance Windows. The concept being that sometimes work that is taking place outside of the array within the ecosystem somewhere which could impact the array, and thus start erroneously flagging support's attention as it believes that something may be going wrong (for example power, networking, host, air conditioning and other work).

Therefore it's now possible to schedule a maintenance window within the Infosight tool, which will automatically suppress alerts on related events from the maintenance window type. Note: this DOES NOT suppress all alerts; anything that's been detected which is not related to the window will still be flagged as normal.

How to configure a Maintenance Window

You can schedule a window from within the Infosight->Assets->Assets View for a particular array, or directly from the global Wellness tab for your Infosight systems. I've blurred out the serial numbers of the array I was using for these screenshots.

Once in the Maintenance Window screen, you can view all previous and upcoming windows that have been scheduled (along with the reasons), or you can create a new window. I've created one here alerting about potential network issues, as some work is taking place to upgrade some of the hardware and software on the network switches, which otherwise could cause the array to alert about network ports failing, or even causing a controller takeover due to it detecting better network connectivity on the standby controller (a feature I really like!).

And there we have it! Such a modest but powerful tool, which I think everyone will be happy about using!

Also a quick note to mention that the dates shown are in US format (not international format!)
