Top Reasons why Customers choose HPE Converged Solutions



HP-Head.pngFrom Converged Infrastructure brochure circa 2009Since joining the HPE Converged Solution effort, I've had the opportunity to speak with our people on the business and in the field and have learned quite a bit about the offerings and what makes them special.

As far as I can tell HPE (at the time still just "HP") pioneered the Converged Infrastructure concept, with established thought leadership and go-to-market in place before the main competitor, VCE, was even an established company.  Here's a link to an HPE Converged Infrastructure brochure from 2009.   With so many existing customers, many now on second or third generation deployments, it begged the question, "Why do these customers keep coming back?"  I compiled what seem to be the top reasons:

1. Single vendor solution—HPE Converged Solutions comprise compute, storage, and networking offerings, whereas others on the market rely on risky, multi-vendor meet-in-the channel approaches. This can result in technical and support issues over time as infrastructure is patched, upgraded, and refreshed at different rates by different suppliers.

2. Single support model—With Hewlett Packard Enterprise, customers have one number to call in case of problems. Even if they purchased through a reseller, the channel partner has a single vendor with whom they can quickly connect and get the support and resources needed.

3. A leader in IT—Hewlett Packard Enterprise leads the industry in a number of areas, such as:

  • #1 in servers worldwide, #1 in external storage, and #1 in midrange SAN.
  • Recognized by Gartner as a leader in server, storage, and integrated systems magic quadrants.
  • Hewlett Packard Enterprise was recognized by Gartner as having the highest ability to execute in the integrated system market —higher than Cisco and all other vendors.

4. Power of predictive infrastructure—Customers are simplifying thier data centers with infrastructure that uses predictive intelligence to identify and resolve issues before they occur. This frees up time for doing new, value-add IT, versus just keeping the lights on.

5. Trusted partnership—Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seen as a trusted partner. And with HPE InfoSight specifically, former Nimble customers have come to trust that when they do need to call, they'll connect directly with a Level 3 support engineer in less than a minute. And HPE has no plans to change this.
