Creating a DR and Business continuity with LeftHand
Let’s say that the WAN link latency is acceptable, is it possible to accomplish with LeftHand?
Hi All,
I would like to create a read/write architecture in two geographically different sites.
Both sites will have combination of SQL and Web applications. The SQL database should be in sync at all times and I would like to test the web applications at any time in both datacenters.

Re: Creating a DR and Business continuity with LeftHand
Hi,
I dont't think you can create a synchronized SQL database using a MultiSite SAN. Why don't you use the higher level techniques of your SQL server?

Re: Creating a DR and Business continuity with LeftHand
This is indeed correct.
If you have 2ms or less latency between the sites you can make a synchronous replication between the sites for the data on P4000 level... However the SQL instance will only run on 1 site... You can enable MS clustering eventually but that is still active/passive...
If you want 2 SQL servers running at the same time on the same data on the 2 sites, you will need to use SQL functionality...

Bart
