FOM - SanIQ 9.5 - does it run under VMplayer?
I'm trying to get a vmplayer installation to import the FOM ovf file (the ESX version). I have the most recent player (version 4.x something) installed on the vcenter 5 system.
When I try to import, it always errors with (helpfully) unknown error. ARRG
I need to get a danged FOM up and running - any suggestions?

I've used vmWare Server for this purpose. And this works fine for me.

Re: FOM - SanIQ 9.5 - does it run under VMplayer?
OK - great to hear it works for you!
How do you get it working - do you simply import the .ovf file (this is what I have tried and it is failing) or did you:
1)convert the .ovf to vmx? If so - how?
2)install the "non-esx" FOM option, and player was able to run it (this is what a support person has suggested to me may work)?
Thnx!

Re: FOM - SanIQ 9.5 - does it run under VMplayer?
My point is: I didn't use vmWare player, I used vmWare server which is a different product:
To use it:
- Install vmWare server
- DVD-drive:\ FailoverManager\FOM_nonesx\bin\setup.exe
- In vmWare sever console -> Menu Virtual Machine -> Add Virtual Machine to Inventory
- Select FOM.vmx
Scroll down in the vmWare Tips part en select “Edit Virtual Machine Startup/Shutdown Settings”
Check "Allow virtual machines to start and stop automatically with the system"
Change the boot order
Then just start the FOM en do the setup.
Kind regards,
Joris Vliegen
