HP P4300 4.3TB start SAN additional NIC?

Does anyone know what additional NIC cards I can add the the above system? I noticed that each node has 2 additional slot bays in the rear and I would like to add 2 additional NICs to each node. Thanks

Hi, quickspecs:

http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/13254_div/13254_div.html

I am not familiar with the P4300 series but as far as I could see in the quickspecs it's not possible to add more NICs?

AT022A is the upgrade option with 10 GbE ports, but they are CX4!

Re: HP P4300 4.3TB start SAN additional NIC?

I was able to find out that these are DL380G5 chassis which will accept the NC373T MF gig NIC, part number 394791-B21, or the NC380T dual gigabit MF NIC, part number 394795-B21 (which has been changed to 374443-001)

Thanks for the replys

Maybe physically they will fit in, but know that it is not a DL380 G5 server or whatever... The latest boxes are already on G6 material so don't count on that one... It is not possible to add NICs except the 10Gb upgrade kit...

Why would you want to do that? All the installations that I did untill now, I never saw a congested network uplink... Do the bonding correct so that you have a 2 Gb uplink and it will work as a charm...

Re: HP P4300 4.3TB start SAN additional NIC?

P4300 SANiQ supports only 2 active NIC ports at a time (be it 1Gb or 10Gb... be it onboard or supported PCI card... be in bonded or standalone).

Also, previously HP (LHN) supported bonding 1Gb & 10Gb together but latest documents recommends a bond of either two 1Gb together or two 10Gb together.

Hope that helps/
