HP P4300 G2 reboot ctr+alt+del

Hello,

We have bought 14 P4300 G2 boxes recently, while using we fonund that if we press ctrl+alt+del its get rebooted.

Even after added the storage node to the cluster and management group.

Management group has password and if we use CMC that is asking password to login but if we use directly conected console and press ctl+alt+del it is rebooting.

In this case if we use it in KVM environment, our users may press accidently.

Any solution for this ..

Best Regards,

The solution is to disconnect the P4300 from the KVM. Once the initial configuration of name and IP address has been completed there really is no need for it to be used again until you need to apply firmware upgrades.

I am not sure why users will use the SANiQ Console.

It would be used only during initial setup and for troubleshooting.

Re: HP P4300 G2 reboot ctr+alt+del

Don't know why such a thing has been implemented in Linux anyway.

The VMware ESX service console had inherited this bug, too.

The "solution" is to fix SAN/iQ.

Unless it is very different, it is just an entry in /etc/inittab.
The 'fix' in ESX was to put a "#" in front of the line
"ca::ctrlaltdel:/sbin/shutdown -t3 -r now"

People keep the KVM connected to _be prepared_ for troubleshooting.
It doesn't make sense to go hunting for cables and free ports _after_ the desaster has struck.

Re: HP P4300 G2 reboot ctr+alt+del

SAN/iQ is not a complete Linux system - it is pretty closed and I don't mean that negative.

I recommend that you open a call with HP and try to convince them to fix that bug.
