Left Hand with FOM

We have 2 Nodes in a cluster.I have installed FOM to monitor the nodes. I used vmware player to run the FOM. With vmwware player when i logoff the windows , the FOM goes to standby mode and it stops accessing from the network. Vmware player needs to be always open to run the FOM. with this we will not be able to logoff the windows. Is there any other possiblity to run the FOM. we dont have a separate esx server to run the FOM..
is there any other method to run the FOM as a in the background ???

Re: Left Hand with FOM

Did you try VMware Server? It runs on Windows and my allow more flexibility than the player.

Also, do you need to log out? Can you just lock the box?

Re: Left Hand with FOM

VMware Server is free.

I am not sure if it continues to run after you log off, but it does run as a service... so it should.

You just need to specify in the vm configuration.

Re: Left Hand with FOM

VMware server will allow you to run the FOM VM whilst logged off.
