Licenses P4500

Hi,

I am installing a new P4500 environment with 4 nodes on 2 sites.
I have 4 x P4300/P4500 Storage System LTU (this i registered with the node mac address and filled in the long key (created on HP webware) using CMC per node - This is OK.

Then i have 1 x HP P4000 REP REM OFF 10PK Media STK LTU (Remote Office), i registered again using the 4 mac addresses; where do i have to add the long license key ? In the CMC i can only add 1 key per node (where the LTU is already filled in). Is this key to be added on cluster level ?

At last i have 4 x ASSY, SA ADV PACK FLAT PACK 1 -LIC, something to enable RAID 6 on P400-P800 raid controllers ? What to do with this ?

Called HP for this last license key and dind't know either...

I think this is pack of 10 licenses for P4000 VSAs (Virtual Storage Appliance). A VSA is a virtual machine that runs on a VMware ESX/ESXi server and provides storage node features. When registering you're using the MAC address of that virtual machine.

No product number? It does indeed sound like to unlock some SmartArray controller features.

Re: Licenses P4500

Tnx for the answer:

The first is correct, is indeed the VSA licenses.

For the second i have 516542-001 as partnumber.

Re: Licenses P4500

Hm. That number is unknown by Google or HP's own 'partsurfer' - sounds like it is an internal spare-part number. Maybe somebody from HP reads this and can check it.

Re: Licenses P4500

The license key is in the evelope on a yellow sticker on the folded sheet of paper. The instructions on how to apply the license are on the same sheet of paper. It is applicable to P410i, P411, P410 and P212 controllers with at least 256MB cache only.
