Moving all connections to one site?

Moving all connections to one site?

I have a two site multi-site SAN.  I want to take one site down for physical location maintenance.

I know I could "simply" shutdown the nodes and cause a failover, but what is the suggested way to move all sessions seamlessly to the remaining site prior to shutting down the nodes in the site where the work needs to be done?

Thanks,

Paul

I don't know the "real" way, but what about just moving the servers to the logical site that you want them to connect to and let DSM do its thing.... just an idea, I haven't tried it, but it seems to make sense.

Re: Moving all connections to one site?

Our hosts are running vSphere and we're essentially a stretch cluster with a single VIP so that vSphere can multipath, but this means the vSphere boxes aren't assigned to sites as we found that otherwise the first vSphere box to boot just bound all the volumes to the nodes in its site, so no balancing.

Maybe think about entering repair mode on the nodes affected?
