Hi,
Does the P4300 G2 with sofrware version 11.5 allow specifying some disks as hot spares? I don't see any such option in the CMC or mentioned in the User Guide but want to make sure.
thanks!
Martin

SolutionHello,
The Store Virtual product is not designed for the user to assign the hot spares.
You perform HW RAID which will allow you to recover in the event of a drive failure.
Store Virtual also performs Software RAID which protects in the event of a castrophic failure of the HW RAID.
Each Store Virtual machine (P4300 G2 etc.) is assigned to a management group. You then create a cluster and add different SAN's to the cluster. You can think of each cluster with the SAN's almost like a RAID controller and the RAID disks are the SANS.
Anyway there is not need to assign so call hot swap drives
