RAID10 > RAID5 for more space

Good morning

Our 4 P4500 nodes are currently setup in 2 sites (2 each) with all volumes set at Network RAID 10. We wanted to physically separate our 4 nodes and utilise network RAID 5 but im a bit confused about how to set the sites up to do this, can anyone help?

Cheers

Hi,
Please refer page 55 on the below document which will tell you how to configure and how to migrate.

Thanks Sudhakar, I cant find the information in this document, it only seems to describe altering disk RAID levels within individual nodes?

N/W RAID 5 in multisite is normally not supported and is not considered as best configuration instead what always is prefered is mirroring
refer page 8 of below document.

Re: RAID10 > RAID5 for more space

I understand, are there drawbacks to having a standard cluster over multisite if the nodes were stored in 4 different comms rooms? We are really keen to increase the capacity.
