Rightsizing LUNs and VMware datastores

I am going to install a couple of HP StoreVirtual 4330 900GB 7,2TB SAS SFF units to be used by a VMware vSphere 5 infrastructure based on 3 ESXi 5.x hosts.

After creating the new cluster I expect to have about 5 TB available space.

What is the best strategy to size LUNs and dstastores?

Is it advisable to create a single LUN and a single dataastore, 1 LUN and more datastores, more LUNs (how many?) and 1 datastore per LUN, or what else?

Is there any document or general rule I can refere to?
