Time drifting with SanIQ 10.5 on W2k12
Hi,
We are running StoreVirtual 10.5 VSA on Windows 2012,
the Storevirtual machines experience a significant time drift, several minutes in 24 hours,
the windows host machine has no problem keeping his time accurate.
We use NTP within the storevirtual, but it only resets the time once a day,
I noticed in the configuration of the virtual machine that under the section integration services,
all are checked, except the TIme synchronization option.
Should this option be checked as well?
I am quite sure I have disabled all the C-state options in the bios.
Regards,
Joop

Re: Time drifting with SanIQ 10.5 on W2k12
I don't know, but I can say that its not limited to v10.5 and server 2012. I"ve seen it since v8.5 and server 2008 and it continues with v11 and 2012r2. I haven't seen it matter much even when the times have been off by hours.

Re: Time drifting with SanIQ 10.5 on W2k12
Its giving me the issue, that every morning around 0500 AM
when the NTP resets the time, I get error about managers unreachable, becoming reachable within 10 seconds or so..
Its not causing any downtime, but I rather not see those messages every day....
Has anybody tried to enable the time synchronization service?
Joop
