UPS - Issuing Shutdown?

Are any of you using the tools that came with your UPS to issue a shutdown command when X minutes of power remain on your UPS?

If so, how are you doing so please?

I'm assuming it's using the CLI toolkit, but I'd appreciate any feedback of where you've had problems or had to do things a particular way etc.

Thanks,

Paul

Still waiting on the UPS to arrive.  It will be an Eaton.  They do a plugin for vSphere (not tried it yet) but that would leave the P4000 nodes powered on when the battery runs out.

Re: UPS - Issuing Shutdown?

We did this over management server (win server) and CLI toolkit installed on it. So UPS client (installed on management server) that is connected to events mgmt on Socomec UPS over LAN receives event (battery low), and with delay of 3 minutes starts up cli batch command that shuts down management group.

During 3 minutes delay all servers that are using SAN are being shut down too.
