VSS integration with HP dataprotector

Hi,
We want to use application managed snapshots with VSS. We have 4 ESX (4.1i) hosts.
Our VM's have SQL2008 DB on a VMware RDM, and want consistent backup of the DB, we only need backup of these RDM's.
We have to install P4000 VSS Provider on each Windows VM, configure management group authentication.
Is it correct and do we need the MS software initiator in our case for the RDM backups(now we have hardware based iscsi cards and configured in VMware, with bindings)
Do we have to add some VSS functionality in DP 6.11 ?
