"Unrecoverable IO" error

Hello,

I have a volume that has a status of "unrecoverable IO." The volume is available, but the error will not clear. I thought the error might clear on its own but it's been there for a day now.

Does anyone know how to clear the error? I am using the P4000 VSA with CMC.

Thx

Re: "Unrecoverable IO" error

If you have multiple VSA, try putting in Network RAID1 and see if that gives you another error or clears it out. Other way to verify the volume itself from OS, using fsck or disk-defragmenter.

The error would not clear.
Perform chkdsk for any errors from the host side on the volume.
Then backup your data from the volume.

Delete the Volume and recreate it.

Re: "Unrecoverable IO" error

First things first:
how many storage nodes (VSA's)?
which FW version
how many managers are running?
is the FOM/VM running?
are there open alerts in the CMC console?
