windows server 2008 R2 and HP DSM for MPIO
Anybody have a problem with number of sessions to storage from 2008 R2 cluster ?
We had to apply patch 10085-00 to increase sessions to 64. Formula to work out number of sessions is •# of Microsoft cluster nodes * (# initiator NICs per MS node + # of storage nodes) > 31 - Question is what happens when we get to 64 sessions which we will pretty soon if we add a couple of nodes to the Windows Cluster and a couple of storage nodes.
Currently have 4 node Windows cluster (2 nics for storage per node) and 6 storage nodes.
Any thoughts or any signs of the number of sessions being increased ?
Thanks,
Martin.

Re: windows server 2008 R2 and HP DSM for MPIO
Hi Rajiv,
Thanks for the reply - looks like the fix is a new version of your suggested patch - Patch 10085-00 and a new version of the DSM on the windows servers - Patch 10068-00.
Patched yesterday and so far we look ok.
Regards,
Martin.
